I had a very comfortable stay at this centrally located hostel in Banska Bystrica. The bed was cozy and the location was perfect for exploring the city. I also appreciated the large storage room for my luggage.
One specific situation happened during my stay that I want to highlight. Although the room I initially booked didn't have a bathroom, the staff quickly resolved the issue and offered me a discount on the price.

During my Christmas stay, I appreciated the large lockers in my dorm that allowed me to safely store my belongings. The best aspect of this location was its prime placement within the city, allowing me to easily explore the surrounding area on foot. The big plus was having access to a well-equipped and functional kitchen, which made it easier to prepare my favorite holiday dishes.
The thin doors provided little sound insulation and I could clearly hear noise from outside my room. The worst aspect was that the reception staff was not very helpful when I needed advice on local attractions and events.

We got great value for our money at Gran Hostel! The room was clean and cozy, and the location was perfect, right in the city center. The staff treated us like family, especially Anna and Vladimir, who were kind and welcoming.
The breakfast experience could have been better with a wider variety of options.

Right in the heart of the old town, this hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the area. You can easily walk to the main square and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. the rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need for a good night's sleep. the staff are friendly and helpful, always on hand to offer recommendations and advice. If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient base from which to explore the city, this is a great choice.
The noise from the nearby street can get quite loud at night, making it difficult to sleep.
